Can anyone give Brief information about Bheeshma's death?MAHABHARATA - THE MYTH OF THE DEATH OF BHISMA-DRONA-KARNA...Is it true? answer by: Ashish, posted on: 26th January 2011 09:28:38 am Ans. killing of karna and bhisma
we all know that karna was killed by arjuna and not defeated by arjuna...and lord krishna was party to such killing..why did the lord ask arjuna to do so...isnt it against the basic tenets of dharma to attck an unarmed person.
even bhisma was not defeated in battle, he was killed and again the lord had guided the panadavas in this regard..
plz resolve my doubts. answer by: Abhilash, posted on: 26th January 2011 09:29:19 am Ans. krishna
Is the maker of the mundane rules bound by the same rules or is He beyond the rules?
Is the source of the truth, the past, present & future making a mistake, when he directs a battle from the seat of a charioteer?
Lord Krishna who is the creator, maintainer and destroyer, understand each and every living entity (jiva) inside out. Birth after birth, he has followed them as the paramatma. He knows their past activities and he is the ultimate judge of what punishment eachone deserves.
When we try to judge it is from a very temporary dimension, the outlook is limited. Krishna, who is non-diffrent from paramatma knows the complete picture. Therefore, His judgement will be most perfect in any given circumstance.

Dear Arjun,
Thankyou.
Dear Aham,
Whatever the Lord (Bhagavan) speaks, that is ultimate dharma. If Arjuna had said that he would not kill Karna, then it would have been adharma.
Bhagavatam also says, "dharmasya tattvam nihitam guhayam". The essence of dharma is hidden. Where is it hidden? "mahajano yena gata: sa pantha:". It is hidden in the words/deeds of the Mahajanas. Only the Mahajanas like Bheeshma understand the exact meaning, purpose and application of the dharmic principles.
Unlike Karna, did Bheeshma complain about the way he was killed? He understood the great opportunity at hand. Died at the right time beholding the lotus face of Krishna Bhagavaan.
So, top cut it short, Arjuna never went against Dharma. There are different gradations of dharma. And listening to the direct instructions of Lord Krishna is the ultimate dharma.
