Ans. It Is Sad!!
It is a very sad fact that we cannot deny --> The fact that we are inching closer to the Worst of Kaliyug with each passing moment.
The fact that illicit things such as those Ickru mentions (premarital/Extramarital/Homosexual/etc...etc) are becoming so much an integral part of society is a proof that we are now falling into Kaliyug faster than ever!!

As with everything that happens in this world, Sri Krishna says in Gita that He is the performer of it. On that note, Sri Krishna did say that He is the 'Kaam' that makes you indulge in a sexual activity BUT He Said This With A Very Imp Clause --> WHEN IT IS BASED ON SHASTRA!!
What this means is because Bhagvan gave us those organs they are indeed meant for that purpose BUT only for Reproduction AND NOT TO DERIVE PLEASURE FROM IT!!

So, the message is that even for LEGALLY(With God's Blessings) Married couples, it is not right to be doing it for pleasure. But, ofcourse, in this day and time, this would sound completely stupid!! And premarital/extramarital affairs is completely/outrageously WRONG BEYOND FORGIVENESS!! And a crazy thing such as Homo... I dont think even Vyasji/Brahma imagined that such a ridiculous thing would happen in Kaliyug.

Humans think they are above animals. They should compare with animals in this regard. With a few exceptions, Even animals mate only with season with the purpose of reproduction!

Ans. Pankaj has given the complete answer to the root query. I would like to address a different misconception now: Krishna Raas Leela.

I remember a "lukha" sher:

Krishna kare to raas leela
Hum karein to character dheela?!

My only point to counter this is that Krishna did his Raas Leela only in Vrindavan. And Krishna left Vrindavan at the age of 11 years and few months.

His Raas Leela was of pure love - which itself is an embodiment of God. We perceive the raas leela as lust.

Ans. Hmmm... I wonder. Why would sexual pleasure be a sin? Extra marital i can understand, it can be sinful because you are being un-faithful. I would give every organ in my body equal importance. If a cool breeze can be pleasurable to my senses without being a sin, why would sexual interaction be a sin if it is not doing any harm to anyone. And my point exactly... animals are genetically programmed to be that way... eat, survive and reproduce. Human intellect does not allow it to be that simple. We cant compare ourselves to animals!!! But yes Extra marital and I believe Homo sexual activities are definitely sinful.

The Shastras infact do value a grihast jeevan where you pray the first thing in morning, give alms, work for a living during the day and "co-habit" with spouse at night.

Extra-marital means outside marriage. It has been convenienently changed to outside marriage, when married.

Sex outside the boundaries of marriage weaken the bond of marriage... 'cos consummation of marriage happens with establishment of a sexual relation. This is the only relation where sex is permissible. This is also why marriages where sexual relation has not been established, such marriages are annulled and not divorced.

Relations in the world are anyways complex. Some things can only complicate matters further.

Ans. well i think i am tooo young to even talk about this topic .... but its my love for my lord thats forcing me to write.... icru has raised a perfect question ...but i somehow agree with anand and not pankaj ....not because anand has libral view but i feel pankaj has little bious opinion.....as far as my knowledge goes krishna always accepts any action in which our soul, our concious is pure.... if u r getting physically intimate with ur spouse and ur emotions are not pure then even if u r doing it for reproduction ....it is of no use

secondly we r superior than animals therefore we think high of sex its not just a method to reproduce its an emotion of ultimate intimacy ......draupadi was wife of pandavas and she divided the number of days and nights she had to spend with all 5 ...... what wud we call it extra marital relationship polygamy?
my point is only this much that do whatever but never make ur concious dirty ......i am sure lord will support u and if at any point ur concious is upset and u r forcing it for ur personal pleasure then u r dis respecting the krishna inside u .......

Ans. I think that having xtra marital affair is a great sin. n i cont understand how sm1's consious allows to do that.
As far as homos are concerned,i agree with above opinions that Lord must not have thought of such possibility.
and i disagree with Pankaj that we should not derive pleasure from our partner.If we cant do that then may b we would not be able to reproduce even.N sex is a part of happy married life.y should it be considered as a bad thing.
N raas lila should not be considered as some sort of "vaasna".
it was a very pure thing and it is the obvious learning for us that if we love sm1 from the opposite sex, then its not a wrong thing to do.

Ans. With due respect to everyone's sentiments and beliefs, I'd rather agree with Sanna... Our Mythology books are full of such examples...
I will not site any examples here but you can contact me if you want... To 'dignify' such acts, they have been associated with divine intervention. I believe that Shastras have been written by Human beings who wrote what they thought was right. The best gift that krishna has given me is my consciousness. I would rather consult my conscience than a Shastra. I always site this example... I have given up Non-veg not because the Shastras say so, but because my conscience says that no animal should have to die to satisfy my taste buds!!!

Ans. Answer to question 1)
No I am not referring to our Shastras as myths. BTW Sri Krishna is not a part of any Shastra. All Shastras, all knowledge, all that exists is a part of him, so it really doesn't matter whether I call the Shastras a myth. And how can Shastra be Myths, they are preachings not stories!!!

Answer 2) If you need examples... here goes...
a) Do you really expect me to believe that Kunti was 'blessed' with sons by different Gods since Pandu was not capable of fathering them?
b) Do you really want me to believe that Bhima married Hidimba and fathered Ghatotkachha just to 'reproduce'?

Now that is called a myth. I know people are going to say in those Yugas miracles used to happen, which is inconceivable in Kaliyuga...! Get real !!! I know I am no authority on this, but I always use my conscience as a reference!

Ans. i agreee with u anand...... and i guess this topic is going way far off.....and to jigisha .... i know we r not brahm gyanis but we all have a concious and if all are in this in this forum then we r definately blessed by krishna in one way or the other ....... so our concious is part of krishna ........ i dont know abt u but i am very sure that my concious knows whats right and whats not its just that sometimes my own interests dominate it ...... u just need to hear its voice and i am sure it wud never ever guide u wrong coz krishna is there with u.....

as written in geeta ki "koi bhi manushya agar apna karam chodkar sanyaas ki taraf jaata hai to vo sanyaas nahi wo apni zimmedari se bhaag raha hai".....so if u r married and u think that sex is a sin then u r no saint believe me u r not

Ans. and all the animals can get moksha like us ( only if its written in their karma) i read geeta everyday and there r so many examples of animals even plants getting moksha even if they touch soomebody who reads geeta ........or listen when geeta is being read.....and its written in garbha geeta that only those who have done immense bhakti in their past life but cudnt get moksha are blessed in this janam that they born as human to again indulge in bhakti and finally get to moksha

u wont belive and its not realted to the topic..... my dog always sits by my side when i am rading geeta .... and he carefully lends an ear to it ....... i dont know how he comes to know about it so i cannot say that he is deprived of moksha.....if its written for him he will get that ........ if not then possibly next janam .... but getting moksha is not smethin that makes us superior

But, I should attempt to clarify some issues. First, I said what I read from Gita (Or, what I interpreted). I thought we are talking on a spiritual plain here and NOT a Material Plain!!

First about me - Do I derive pleasure from sex? Well, OFCOURSE!! I am a human being too! Ofcourse, I do consider Sex to be one of the most pleasurable act in this world. No denying that, Boy!!
But, I wonder, in what way does it take me close to Krishna? NO WAY!

For those who would agree, dont 'THEY' say that a Yogi is always in a state of Krishna Consciousness! Thinking on that plain, a 'Materialistically-Pleasurable-Sexual-Intercourse' is not helping you in any regard! You are obviously not thinking of having sex with Krishna at that moment. If you ARE...then you are great! Or maybe, you need to get something fixed because there are better ways to derive pleasure from Krishna!!

Anand - I think your first scrap in this thread actually needs to be fixed! You had said - 'If a cool breeze can be pleasurable to my senses without being a sin, why would sexual interaction be a sin'. Actually, this needs to be put in order. Where is it written that its great to be pleasing your senses in any way?
What I have always heard/read is that For someone on the path to Bhakti must control his senses and get beyond them.
So, that is my clarification. I stated that on a completely spiritual level.

Talking at worldly level, yes, I completely agree that a sexual relationship is a very important vehicle of a healthy marital relationship. It is that very important connecting act! Actually, many a times, some of the worst fights gets resolved as a result of this.

But, going back, it will only bind you even more into worldly pleasures.
TRY THIS - On one of those very rare occassions, when you are immersed in Krishna bhakti, feel if you would RATHER be having Sex? NO!! So, if a more pleasurable option exists, why opt for lower category options!!

well for anything to understand first of all we have tio understand two thinds
one is that why we marry well some peoiple say we marry for enjoyment well a simple ques to u what dou think that marriage is just a password for all sexual acts we perform and by just marrying wer becoem a spiritual and leagl authority of doing anything
for me the ans is no. its ok that for doing all such activities we are not harming anyone but let me tell u one its not like that what we se its like what the vison of truth and dharm see it.
